That is very odd, Pinkwask. We just got one of those in my class at school, and it looks like I'm getting saddled with "official photographer".The camera is nice; very nice. I don't know how it compares with others, but we got the exact same camera. It seemed nice enough to me.
And then Akon was like, Wooohooo! YEEHOOO!

Yeah cannon makes good cameras for beginner photographers... Easy to use design and light weight for easy handling. If you wanna go pro tho, I'd shoot for a top of the line Nikon. Not saying Rebels arn't good, I have a Rebel 2000 myself and i love it... :D PS I used to work at Wolf Camera and Video for like 2 years

That's not bad, couldn't see the price though. How much is it going for?I need a digital camera, sick of spending money on film. With a digital I could print it all myself. My Nikon doesn't get used as much as I'd like it too, mostly because I'm not sporting a fat wallet; maybe I could sell it and buy a new one myself...

yeah I wish i had a decent digital video camera... I have one of the old Mavica model digital still cameras, but they kinda suck resolution wise...but they were top of the line when I got it. I still perfer SLR's to Digital tho, i say give digital technology another 2-3 years and then they'll be up to par to compeate with SLR.

Bloody hell, that is... "ya". I'd try and look for it cheaper somewhere else, I know you may not want it second hand; but you could always give ebay a try.

That's the cannon I have...but I have a few different lenses and like over 1000 different filters that I use....My fiancee is actually the one that got me into photography...she's won anywhere from 1st to 3rd place in the photography contest at the Texas State Fair for the past 10 years...not counting last cause we didn't enter...
