Okami
http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/adventure/o ... l?q=OkamiI absolutely cannot wait until this comes out this summer. It looks so unique and one-of-a-kind. So far I love the main character design, Amaterasu, a sun god that takes the form of a wolf on earth. He reminds me of Kiba from Wolf's Rain. Your goal is to rebuild and restore color to the world with a paint brush-type mechanic.

I just got a demo of Okami in the mail and it's amazing.First, you start out as the Sun God in a wolf form, Amaterasu. He moves very fast and can do a whole lotta things. He has a Rush attack to attack enemies and break things. He also has a high jump. There isn't really a HUD, as you hit the Circle button to make Amaterasu bark and bring up his stats. There's a lot of cool, little things, like when you run for more than 6 seconds, Amaterasu speeds up and flowers bloom behind him as he runs. Now, onto the paint brush. I think it's one of the best gameplay mechanics in a game. Ever. Sometimes you need it to continue the story, such as connecting a constellation or drawing something in the sky. You bring up the Brush with the R1 button and just use the Analog Stick to move around. One of the coolest techniques you can pull off is something called a Power Slash. When you get into combat with enemies, you have to beat them up a bit using the Rush attack (which is awesome in itself, because Amaterasu does all these flips and bites), then, when a red circle appears around the enemies, you go into the Brush and make a slash across them. The enemies suddenly are chopped in two. There's also little, subtle things that you can do with the Brush. For example, I was running around a village and I saw some dead trees. I went into Brush mode and painted a circle around the trees. They suddenly came to life! It was also really dark, so I looked at the sky and made a circle, which then turned into a sun! I absolutely can't wait until this game comes out!
