IRC for JK2

Hi,Maybe it would be cool instead of using all different kinds of forums to make 1 huge IRC Channel, created one on Quakenet: #JK2CommunityEvery clanleader gets op or some person I can trust, hope to see you there and idle as much as you can.Danayo.mIRC TutorialHello,because there are so many people who don't know how to get mIRC working, starting up or connecting, I'm here to help you out a bit.Step 1:- You install mIRC, don't u have mIRC or don't u know where to download it, then click here. You can just install mIRC standard.Step 2:- Starting up mIRC and configuration, I will show u a few screenshots in the next steps to show you the best ways how to install mIRC, these are only the basics though. You can expand your mIRC configuration later to your own needs but these are the options you will need to get a good, simple and working mIRC.Press ALT+O to go to the Options window (probably it will start automatically when you start up mIRC the first time).Step 3:This is where u give up your name, alternative nick and E-mail address, the rest isn't that important but you can fill it in if you wish.Step 4:This is where you select the server you want to connect to, if you want to get in the #JK2Community channel you'll have to connect to:- IRC Network: Quakenet- IRC Server: Quakenet: Random ServerSo you need these options to get in our channel else you will not be able to see people in there!Step 5:I find it very useful that when mIRC starts to autoconnect with the server so I put this option on.Step 6:There are not many options that need to be added here but if you're getting kicked from a channel it's easy to have "Re-join when kicked" checked so you will automatically get back in the channel without typing it yourself.Step 7:Ok you will now be ready to connect with the server. Close down mIRC and start it up so you can also test if the auto connecting to the server is working. If it is connected with the server then you're able to get in the #JK2Community channel. How to join the channel? Typ in the command line (this is also where u typ text so it's not used as command line but also chatline) /join #JK2Communityand you will enter the channel. If you're having problems with joining do the tutorial over again and if that still doesn't fix your problem(s) just write a reply and I'll try to help you out as soon as possible.Tip:If you will be in more channels later on it will be a chaos with joining all those channels manually all the time, there's a trick for that to solve it:Is for example the channel #ILoveJugz is active, then go to "Favorites", then to "Add to Favorites" and check the "Join on Connect" button. Now you will automatically join the channel when you're connected to the server, you can do this with as many channels as you wish which will make it a lot easier.Tip 2: if you want to change your name then type this: /nick ILoveJugzOfcourse that's only an example ;)If there are still questions remaining on how things work I'd love to help out, hope to see you there soon!Danayo.

A program half of the world uses to communicate. Everyone in one big channel to chat together, arranging funwars etc etc, very useful, posting a tutorial here tomorrow.

I'll check it out tomorrow.I think it would be cooler if some rich person would open up a 100man vent server open to all in the JK2 community. Now that would be entertaining.

Just set it up and post info on diff clan forums and see if ppl resond. I used to use MIRC but found it was unsafe as far as firewall vulneralbility. I think there's some patches to help protect against this. So maybe you should post those too.

I've posted it on different forums already and most of them would check it out. But if people start saying "ohhh there are only 20 people, then I'm out too" it's not gonna work so I just need people who can stay there and help me out, get other mates, and they get other mates too etc etc..I've never had any problems with IRC when it comes to security problems so I don't know if you got your computer secured or not.
