Post by Ardent »

Anyone playing Team Fortress 2? I have to say i am loving it. The game balance and graphics are top notch, at least so far but it is beta.

Was actually planning on posting this here in about a week. When HL2 the orange box comes out I would like to hear what people think of it. I really haven't seen too much of TF2 myself but I can't wait to try it and portal out.

After playing TF2 for a couple of hours I can pretty much come to a conclusion that I haven't had this much fun in an online multiplayer game since the original Team Fortress Classic. I've always loved the whole class based style of this game and it proves to stand out from the rest in artistic technique and fun factor. I like counter strike, halo 3, gears of war, etc etc you name it, all the "leading FPS" games out there but TF seems to offer more than the rest in my opinion. I'm never finding myself bored with the game because you can swap your class every death if you so wish to, and depending on what other peoples classes are on your team and the opposing team you can tactically help out by filling in a gap to make even more synergy. In a "pug" (known as pick up group) situation the game is great but I have yet to play with a premade set of people like in a clan/guild situation... although I can only imagine how much you could dominate with great class setup and coordinated tactics.[size=26:7daf6f647d]Bottom line:[/size:7daf6f647d]If you like FPS games and would like a change of pace from all the cookie cutter "realistic graphics with modern day weapons" then Team Fortress 2 will satisfy you! I would love to play some TF2 with some friends and I can't recommend this game enough. The Orange box in general has something for everyone!

How would that work though? Maybe turn it into a race, the first one to get to the end of the maze wins? Or maybe try to trip someone up and make them fall into a pit of spikes or something?

Ahhh who knows man! Just look at Garrys mod for HL2. I never thought anything like that would be possible when HL2 first came out and that mod has impressed me since day 1 of its release!Odds are if they come out with a multi-player portal mod they would have to make new maps for it also... but who knows!PS: To at least post something on topic I must say my favorite classes are the Demoman, Engineer, and the Spy. In the right conditions (with a friend) spy can become extremely fun and you can chain slaughter people if your careful about it! It really does bring good meaning to the saying "backstabber!"
