Patch news from Raven Forums
Heres the deal... Since Sun night our publicly hosted Lando CTF server has not been showing up on the master list. In fact, what are there 25 servers TOTAL listed on the master list? So our host, Fiberfrag, got right on the problem, trying to figure out what they were doing wrong...After 36 hours of trying everything, they did a bunch of legwork and got Kenn Hoeskstra, Project Administrator/Director of Support Services at Raven involved. Kenn got on the case with a lead programmer and identified the problem being on Raven's side. Here is Kenn's response: "Well…I hate to tell you this, but you were right. It’s a definite bug in the game. We’ve fixed the code on our end for a patch, but until the patch is available, there’s no way to work around it on the client end other than continually refreshing your server or by hosting your server through GameSpy Arcade". So we now have proof a patch is coming and that some of it is even completed, we just dont know when. Hopefully its really soon, I know 7 organizations alone paying good $$ to host a public server that isnt showing up on the master list. Alot of us use ASE and Gamespy, but lets face it, the MASS MAJORITY of players for this game use the Master List to find servers, and with that list not showing 10 percent of the public servers out there, it makes it THAT much harder to find a game, making it that much harder to KEEP THE PLAYER INTERESTED IN THE GAME, making the life of the game THAT MUCH SHORTER. Lets hope they get that patch out there, at least something quick to fix the issues they have fixed as well as this one. And Kenn, if you read this, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT LANDO's WHOOOO HOOOOOOO TAUNT BACK IN FOR LANDO. DONT MAKE US START A LANDO WHOO HOO PETITION ))
