A theatrical release would be retarded. I mean Final Fantasy is really cool but it's not really that big in the States like it is in Japan. Some people haven't even heard of FF, others don't give a damn.idk about not hearing about final fantasy...i understand millions not caring but i dont know about not hearingf about it

I watched Final Fantasy: The spirits within back in 2001 when it was in the theatre, CGI was dang good. Can't say I remember anything else about it though...

Stupid movie cost $137 million and only made $30 million in the US, small wonder they filed for bankruptcy.

i dont think they could get away with a theatrical release over here, even if they pulled in non-FF fans. the problem is that the plot just isnt that good. i loved it, but i dont think critics or john q public would, not knowing the mythology of it all
