WHY I wont get a ps3

I really could care less about all these nitty gritty hardware articles about Xbox 360 being better than PS3 or vise-versa. In the end it's about how good the games are, online, and the extras. The graphics are practically the same. No one cares if your grass isn't as super vivid as the other consoles. Atleast I don't.

End of story. Personally I think the Xbox had a handful of good games. But only a handful. But that's my opinion and not fact. Deciding what console won based on the games is impossible, since everyones opinion is different. (i.e: There was some site that gave Twilight Princess a 3, while gamespot gave it a 8.8. Opinion, and thats all it will ever be)Lets think back to the Xbox 360. First off it didn't have ANY good release games. Period. Second off they had to call back a ton of the damn things because they didn't work. Nitendo pretty much does its own thing. Sony and Microsoft are gonna compete with each other till the end but Nintendo is going to rise above both those systems and come out on top.well see... ps3 might have some games come out, but i gotta honestly say in the last year there hasnt been any good realease games, and any games that are distinct to only one console. Ya metal gear solid 4 will be good im sure since im a fan of it. But thats not enough for me at the moment. I dont think ps3 will have downloadable games and movies by march 2007. But still the statistics show that xbox 360 is more powerful, which i thought was interesting cause i thought the ps3 was suppsed to be like 4 times better.. guess not.The PS3 has downloadable games now.Has full function internet, can browse any web page, with 6 windows open at a time, download anything, with any format, Can use a USB keyboard. I would say by the middle of next year it will be a close race between the 2. Not too shabby since the 360 has had a year headstart.But for me the Wii will come first, as I won't spend $600 bucks on a gaming console. I pretty much agree with what Dessy said, but then he's licking my balls at the moment so it'd be rude not to.Thr 360 has done nothing to impress me so far since it's release. My friend buys pretty much every game released for it and I'd have to say Splintercell - Double Agent is the only one that looks any good, which isn't even an XBox only title. I'm not a big fan of Halo either so I don't really care what they release there.The Wii, I'm remaining sceptical until I've seen it in action over here (I think it's released in December). At the moment it looks like they're re-released the Gamecube but with a different controller. The price is good though, definitely a strong point, but I don't think it'll be up there with the big boys in a year or so.As for the PS3, the price difference between that and the 360 is easily made up by the free online service provided as Bane & Dessy pointed out. Backwards compatibility I'd say will be a hell of a lot better than that of the 360 and downloading is already available. Spec wise it's as good as the 360 if not a little better and I'd rate Blu-ray over HDDVD any day. The price is a major downside but I'd still say better value for money than the 360, plus if the games released are anything like the PS2 it will win the battle easily. Technically the XBox was better than the PS2, but the games made the PS2 the greatest console to date.IMO. At the end of the day, go with what you think will benefit you the most personally. For cheap and cheerful, go with the Wii. For costly but best range of games, go with the PS3. For... shits and giggles, go with the 360?

I mean, Spyke, you talk up the 360 because you like the games on it. HALO 3, for example. And that's cool. But yeah, PS3 has some decent games, and I personally want a Wii.And yeah, for me...the only impressive thing the 360 has that no one else has that I would want, in my opinion, is Dead Rising.

Seeing as how a vast majority of the Hollywood firms have gone Blue-Ray only, I see too much money in favor of Blue-Ray for HD-DVD to stand any kind of chance. I'll be getting a Wii, and would still get a Wii if the 360 was for 200 dollars. I don't like systems that I have to send to get fixed on a monthly basis. Besides, people keep talking about raw power and graphics, but I have yet to see anything from any of the consoles that soundly beats the PC in terms of graphics. If anything, PC games are clearly better looking.

Or, like me, you could just stick with the current-generation consoles until the PS3 and/or Xbox 360 drop to $200. Old school PS2 FTW. :thumbright::werd:
