thanks for the help snape. yeh my whole computer freezes.. i have to turn it on and off to get it back. as far as my specs go, lets see here. system -OP system - Win XP Processor - Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.26 GHzMemory 
lol - 510 MB RAM (still holds JK, CS, WoW comfortably lol)Directx Version - DirectX 8.1display - Chip type - ATI RADEON 9600Dac type - Internal DAC (400MHz)Total memory - 128.0 MBim gonna update the driver like you suggested snape, than also update directx and see if that does the trick.

well, i think it worked snape... it was working longer than it has but when i minimized lol, it crashed again, so i really dunno. bahhh

well, i think it worked snape... it was working longer than it has but when i minimized lol, it crashed again, so i really dunno. bahhhWell try running games as normal without minimizing and see if that now works. Then we can take a look at the next problem.

well it now actually lets me into jk.. however, if i die lol or whatever, it freezes up. my computer also makes a really high pitched noise in the process lol.

That made me feel manly and geeky at the same time. Gankly.well it now actually lets me into jk.. however, if i die lol or whatever, it freezes up. my computer also makes a really high pitched noise in the process lol.That's probably not a good sign. It sounds like something inside your computer can't handle what's going on, maybe your PSU isn't giving out enough power. With the parts you've listed you shouldn't be having any problems running most games, let alone JK2. Does everything else run fine?
