I heard talk of a PS2 sequel to FF7 (as in FFVII-2, not VIII!)... anybody know anything about this?

I heard talk of a PS2 sequel to FF7 (as in FFVII-2, not VIII!)... anybody know anything about this?Never heard of this rumor. What I did hear was that they aren't going to remake FF7 for PS2 as long as the PS1 version still works on the same system.
