You can't travel time.

Actually, It's been proven that time travel is possible.. but only to the future.. IF you can travel at the speed of light time slows down for you and whoever is travelling along with you.. So in theory, If you travelled for long enough then returned home everybody there would be ahead of you.. Thus you would have travelled into the future.

Well the wild thing is how the time travel works in this game. The first time you (and Alyx) teleported, it was within minutes. Then when you did it again, it was like 1-2 weeks after you teleported. That goes to show that when the G-man puts Gordon in stasis at the end, that Half-lifeÂ³ (hah, I'm cool like Jordy now!) could be right after the nuclear explosion, or way into the future. While we know the G-man can travel forward through time, we do not know if he can actually travel back in time. Ugh, I blame Tib for the confusion. Him and bespin.

Perhaps Gman does not travel back in time, merely he can just access a dimension of permanent stasis. He could have been completely active when Gordon wasn't.

Also, If G-man IS gordon then he would know everything gordon is thinking.. Infact.. There would be no point in helping gordon since, G-man already exists. Gordon couldn't possibly die at any point in the game if G-man was Gordon from the future.Exactly. That's true.Also, on GW's comments, do you know how the transporter worked? I really mean that question. I mean, I can't say for sure. I have a few guesses, because of what they say in-game.The first being that Xen is used as a relay. That's what the resonance cascade, in Half-Life is, right?Now, to tie some things together, Gordon is a theoretical physicist. From what I know about theoretical physicist, (someone correct/add/help me out here, if I'm wrong), is that they do at least two of these things. THe first being working with sub-atomic particles. Crazy theories there. The second thing that I know they do is, well, basically, creating theories. That is, creating, for example, a better microscope then is around today. Creating a greater telescope than is available now. Basically, pushing the limits of science, right?I'd really like to hear more about the physics of the teleporter. Then, I could say more about this. However, I think, because of the different transports, the quote, "time is relative" (by Albert Einstein, right?) it would make sense that the first transport took only a few seconds for Alyx to arrive at Black Mesa East, but the transport out of Nova Prospekt took a week. Some more to chew over.Also, I have a theory regarding the Combine, and their choice of method in taking over Earth. I need to think it out a bit more, though. Seriously, I'm having a lot of fun with this story.

The explosion that occurred when the Combine portal was used could have caused the delay as it was destroyed right as they ported, and instead of the machine fueling the transport, it was just the portal on its own without any speed augmentation. So maybe the portals are really slow by default and the machines speed them up.

I have come to the conclusion that Half life has got to have the best story line ever! This is all happening because of hl2. Without it we could of thought of any of these conclusions. God i love this. I would give my input but everyone else has basicly said with what i think. Alot of people make sence with what they are saying about g-man and him time traveling. Although i do not think he is traveling though time like others have said. I think g-man moves though time normally so he can see how things are going and then brings gordon into the picture when g-man needs him to do his job. While in this statis Gordan doesnt really age. Or i dont think he aged in hl2.

Or i dont think he aged in hl2.Gordon doesn't seem to be ageing much, at most maybe 5 years. And were talking a timeline from 1990 to 2010.
