Incase you didn't know, Sony's holding some kind of event in Tokyo. They announced and touched up some info regarding the PS3. First off, the release date has been confirmed for November 2006. Secondly, They announced their plans for online play. They will implement a system that functions similar to Xbox Live. You'll be able to find players and do all that great stuff with it. "Basic service" was said to be free of charge. I'm too lazy to put up my source but just look around any major gaming site to find more info.
Accordingly, they delayed it because of hardware problems. One wonders if that's true, or they just did it so they didn't have to contend with Halo 3....all my sources are skeptical about it.
id believe the hardware issues over halo 3 release. i doubt they would let one game push back their release date.bsides last i heard they wouldnt be making profits off the system and that they would have to rely on the games. so mayb they were fixing that
I thought the whole thing was a mess. I like a Fall launch over a Spring launch for some reason.. Maybe because I know some games will be able to be more finished instead of rushed Spring launched titles. But Kojima better show some damn new MGS4 footage or BY GOD I'LL HUNT IT DOWN MYSELF!!!
o and i noticed u said basic use of the online play will be free.this is mostlikely gonna be exactly the same as xbox has it. the free service will includ friends list, messaging. and possibly a maretplace like xbox has set up where u can download demos, trailers, and so on.if u want to actually play a game online u will probally have to pay yo play
