Hmm, sounds very interesting. It seems kinda logical that Squeenix would do a FFVII remake. I mean, how could they do all this "Compilation of FFVII" stuff, and not have a remake of the original game? Anyway, I would love to see this game get re-made, but with the FFXII battle system? Hopefully that turns out for the best. Too bad I won't be getting a PS3 for a very, very long time...(like when it's $100-$200)

they would make a ton of money from a remake. ffvii is the figurehead game for sony (/enix) its the most popular game (undenaibly) and sold a bajillion fafillion dollars. this game formed a freaking cult. not only would this game sell like hotcakes (
) but it would also tip the sales in ps3 cause im sure people who were considering it will say yes and im sure ppl will buy the system purely for it.

Thats where the money is for the PS3.I mean fuck enix gave rights to the Xbox 360 to do FFXI online. So it wont be a PS only game for much longer.S O C O M FTW!

I know A LOT of people that own a PS2 specifically for Final Fantasy or other Square Enix RPG's. SOCOM is big, but definetly not "Final Fantasy"-type big. A name like "Final Fantasy" alone can sell systems. And I wouldn't expect an actual Final Fantasy game on any other system for a while. All of the Final Fantasy's for systems other than Sonys' are mostly spin-offs. I'm betting Final Fantasy XIII will be a PS3 exclusive, as it's the first true Final Fantasy of the next-generation. Plus, Sony has such a tight grip on the main series of FF games, it won't be letting them go anytime soon. That would almost be like seeing Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360. Square Enix and Sony have a pretty good relationship, so I think the PlayStation will be the home of Final Fantasy for at least a few more installments.Maybe Final Fantasy XIV or XV will see a multi-platform release?
