360 question

So i got an hdtv and the 360 right and it looks awesome! My 360 do not have an HDMI port on the back like elites. So my question is, if i had an elite and hooked it up to my hdtv with normal hd settings and then ran a hdmi cable from my 360 to my hdtv. Would it make everything look visual better or not make a difference?
