I'm looking to buy a new laptop but I don't really know much about hardware. So I figured I'd come to my boys at FoU to give me some advice. Here is what I need:Lightweight; current laptop is about 4 lbs. I need to carry the thing around and I'm small and weak.Smallish; my current one is like 12"x8" and has a 13.5" screen; I'd rather not buy a new case lol; I think 15ish" will fit ok. Gaming: I'd like it to be able to "handle" games but I don't need a "gaming laptop". My PC is just fine for that but I do want something I can load up a game and play on low settings when I'm away from my PC. Performance: I'm going to be running some game development and programming software on it. I don't expect to run a compiler, a game engine, play guild wars and watch a movie all at once but I'd like it to be able to do those things at least one at a time. Like I said, I don't know anything about hardware so I'm not sure what kind of power I really need, but I'm not sure a basic laptop designed for some word processing and web browsing for like $599 is going to be powerful enough for me.Price: yeah, I'm cheap. I don't want an amazing gaming multimedia rig because I don't need, can't carry, and don't want to shell out the dough forAppearance: I want it to look sexy. If I can get it in green, that would please me; however looks are vanity and it only coming in black won't stop me from buying something otherwise perfect.Brand: It can't be sony because I hate them; I'd rather not have Dell because I heard not so great things about their customer supportSoftware: I'm probably going to put XP on it for compatibility reasons; (that rules out Macs, Step lol)Anything you can recommend would be helpful. Remember I don't understand technical things like processor speeds and junk which all sounds like so much gibberish to me. (You'd think someone with a BS in computer science would know more about computers...)

You could always put Windows on a Mac. Just get a lightweight MacBook or something. You can dual boot between operating systems.

But either way, Mac is a good option. And considering that GuildWars will be the game that gets played, it has support on a mac.
