Ok peeps, I've had the game for about 3 hours now and all I can say is that this is only the BEGINNING for Castlevania in next-gen gaming...Ok, first, let's start of with the story shall we?This Casltevania installment takes place before all other installments and shows the beginning of the Belmost clan's war against Dracula Vlad Tepes(for you Castlevania nOObs that's Dracula). Our hero of the story is Leon Belmont. His girlfriend is captured by Dracula and he gives up his Baron title to go find his lost love. Thus begins the trek through Castlevaina...Now, on to the gameplay...You start off having a limited number of whip movements and magic attacks. The square button does a faster, but weaker whip attack, whiletriangle does a slower, but more powerful whip attack. The circle button uses you're equiped subweapon (which you can only carry one at a time, like in basically all Castlevania's) The X button does a jump and also a double jump, which you can perform right from the start, unlike in past Castlevania's. The R1 button guards, and while guarding, hitting X will active any relics that you may have equiped. These relics can alter you're attacks while orbs alter you're subweapon attacks. The controls are tight and responsive. The graphics are awesome. The only thing they do is HELP the whole Halloween-gothic theme that we all love so much. Very crisp and detailed.Ah, now on to the camera. Many people say that cause you have no control over it, it detracts from the game. But I think that the fixed camera gives really nice views of the action and never makes you miss out on anything. This proves even more so that this game is really 2D at heart. And finally, the soundtrack. Wow, this game's soundtrack compares even to that of Symphony of the Night's. It is so awesome. I can't wait to get ahold of the OST.So, in the end, I guess I'm saying that this is a MUST-BUY for any Castlevania fan. And even if you're looking for a good action game with some sweet Halloween-style themes, this is for you...
