PS3 backwards compatible?

seeing as a PS2 is still upwards of 200 dollah (canadian anyway) i was thinking why spend 200+ on a new ps2 if the ps3 is coming out in a year or less if it's backwards compatible...so...anyone know if it is? psone/ps2/both? i dont recall reading anything on it

Not sure - but I would assume it would be. They would piss alot of people off if it wasn't. And seeing how it isn't Bill Gates making it I would say it would be backwards compatible.

i think its backwards compatible...i remember reading a lot of threads with angry people when microsoft was originally not planning to make the 360 backwards compatible...even now im not sure....so yeah i dont think sony would be that stupid...

I think I heard somewhere that the Revolution will be able to play NES's cartridges. lol Nothing offical and I can't remember where I heard it either.

what format is revolution? i mean, is it playing the mini discs again? or if not, will it be able to play mini discs? i read too that you could download classics and shit, but what about newer stuff, ie Zelda Twighlight princess or whatever teh fuck
