Erb, thats not time travel. Moving at the speed of light does not slow down time itself. That has been proven to be an illusion. It is relative to the way that you can be looking through a telescope at a star, but the star is not neccessarily there. It might have blown to shit years ago, but the amount of time it takes for that light to travel to earth makes it remain in appearance. So when scientists notice that a star has gone out, that star probably went out millions of years ago.

Gordon doesn't seem to be ageing much, at most maybe 5 years. And were talking a timeline from 1990 to 2010.Doesn't Half-Life take place in 2000, whereas Half-Life² takes place in 2010?Anyway, I had this idea about the Combine. Though, I'd much rather see some other opinions on this. Why they decided to take Earth in the way they did, and why is Breen seemingly "in charge"?

Though, I'd much rather see some other opinions on this. Why they decided to take Earth in the way they did, and why is Breen seemingly "in charge"?Go check the site for the timeline, it is correct. As far as Breen and the Combine... well the Combine are exactly what their name is, a combiantion of species. They move from planet to planet, taking all the positive things from a species and combining it with their technology, and humans were next in line. They did this through Breen, as Breen was the head admin of Black Mesa at the time. The offered him that if he played the game he would be granted power... and he took the bait. Thats why Breen gave up after 7 hours of the combine invadeing on earth inbetween HL1 and 2, or otherwise known as the "7 hour war." After he gave up for the city, the combine declared him as the "leader." The combine mostly did this because the people of City 17 were more likely to follow orders and speeches of a human versus an alien. Of course... Breen is an expendable asset at the end of HL2, being that now Gordon destroys City 17 there is no holding back to fully commencing a war on the humans. At the beggining of HL2, they were in a neutral zone, secretly doing tests on humans, but now the "humans" (Gordon) have gone too far. The crazy thing about the combines portal transportation is it is a one way air ticket. In other words, they can portal to earth, but not back. So all the cities that are run by the Combine are basically what is going to be at war with earth. I believe there is 27 cities in total, and City 17 was the core of it all. Now that the main bitch is gone, they are gonna be pissed!

Bob and I were just making fun of, "Gorden".We talked about AIM about that for awhile, ha ha. Just awaring you. Er...yeah.Also, to GW, and anyone who reads this, I am in no way trying to argue with anyone. Only logically trying to sort this out. This story is a great one, (in my opinion) that leaves the conclusions up to the reader/player.After looking things over, I really don't believe that Gordon is the G-Man.Two points that I have that are for the G-Man being Gordon. The first being that the G-Man always seems to appear just as Gordon is about to die, or is in trouble. One thing that is something to think about is that the G-Man says, "Instead of giving you the illusion of choice, I'll decide for you." He is Gordon. He knows what he will do. How that would make sense is beyond me at the moment. One thing that really disputes the G-Man being Gordon is the ending of Half-Life. he gives Gordon two choices: Die. Or, work for me. If the G-Man really were Gordon, why would he allow himself to die? However, the existence of Half-Life² proves that no matter what, you take his offer. Perhaps the G-Man, knews that his younger self would take the choice? All that I am not sure about, but what is for sure is that Gordon does take his offer.Assuming that the G-Man is an older Gordon, and that he would take his offer for sure, (the G-Man exists, so of course he does), is a big stretch and a completely new thing to think through, altogether.Listen, If you were to contact yourself in the past it would create catastrophic issues.. The #1 issue would be, the second that the past you saw the future you, the future you would instantly have a memory fart.. nobody knows how that would affect you.. Some say it would create a pardox in time... nobody knows because time travel has never been tested... Though it has been said that time can be slowed down at the speed of light, that only opens up the possibilty of seeing the future but leaves you with no way back to the past. Which brings me to my next point.. How did they come up with the movie name "Back to the future"? It makes no sense, they werent in the future to begin with.. And once they got home they didn't go back until the sequel... I think the first movie should have been named.. "gone to the future" then the sequel "Back to the future" Then the third one "Back to watching the worst movie ever!"Also, If G-man IS gordon then he would know everything gordon is thinking.. Infact.. There would be no point in helping gordon since, G-man already exists. Gordon couldn't possibly die at any point in the game if G-man was Gordon from the future. Therefor I conclude that either the story is really stupid.. or G-man is NOT Gordon.I just wanna point out that the reason the first movie is called "Back to the Future" is because the kid is trying to return to the future. Get it? He's trying to "get back to the future."
