bespin owns for the layout, lighting, and setup. i think what we really need is someone to reskin bespin. just like, bespin in disco colors, bespin at night, bespin on crack, bespin the rated x version, bespin taken over by fou, bespin on earthbespin underwaterbespin .... ill get back to this

No can do Jaina. Only the .bsp version of Bespin is available, you'd need the .map file and all that gunk to change stuff. Unless you can convince those wacky dudes at LucasArts to send you the necessary files, it'd mean trying to build it from scratch.Way way way back Drep and I were talking about changing it ever so slightly so the pad had 'Dreps Pad' scrawled across it, but we fell at the first hurdle. Ah well, c'est la vie.

what if you made new textures with the same names? like how you did that lil fou banner on top of the forum? i mean that would change it like how default skins are changed? let me see... i wonder... i don't know much about the mapping but i am pretty good with skinning. i wonder if maybe i could do it... cause i have time on my hands cause i dont have the internet... sigh... anyway how about...Bespin ghetto (unskined)bespin black and whitebespin in trees bespin with flashing lightshow hard can it be to make bespin from scratch? its not like you have to come up with a whole new map... i should shut up cause i dont know what im talking about but hey, lets get some mappers on this thread! or something...

if its illegal, how come skins arent? but it really is IMPOSSIBLE to reskin a map without the .map file, which does not come with jk2. the only MP .map that comes with jk2 is ctf bespin

It's illegal because the existing maps (the actual design of the maps) are protected works.The following are excerpts from the User Agreement that I'm sure you all read.

The computer software, artwork, music, and other components included in this product (collectively referred to as the "Software") are the copyrighted property of LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC and its licensors (collectively referred to as "LEC"). The Software is licensed (not sold) to you, and LEC owns all copyright, trade secret, patent and other proprietary rights in the Software. You may use the Software on a single computer. You may not: (1) copy (other than once for back-up purposes), distribute, rent, lease or sublicense all or any portion of the Software; (2) modify or prepare derivative works of the Software; (3) transmit the Software over a network, by telephone, or electronically using any means, except in the course of your network multi-player play of the Software over authorized networks; (4) engage in matchmaking for multi-player play over unauthorized networks; (5) design or distribute unauthorized levels; or (6) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software. You may transfer the Software, but only if the recipient agrees to accept the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If you transfer the Software, you must transfer all components and documentation and erase any copies residing on computer equipment. You agree not to solicit, initiate or encourage any proposal or offer from any person or entity to create any MODs for commercial distribution. You agree to promptly inform LEC in writing in the event you receive any such proposal or offer.(7) By distributing or permitting the distribution of any MODs, all creators or owners of any trademark, copyright, or other right, title or interest therein grant to LEC an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, sublicensable right to distribute the MOD by any means (whether now known or hereafter invented), and to create and distribute by any means (whether now known or hereafter invented) derivative works thereof, and to charge for the distribution of such MOD or such derivative work, with no obligation to account to any creators or owners of the MOD in any manner.The second part is debatable, since you can't actually modify Bespin. You'd have to recreate the entire level with your modifications, but that would violate the first part.

I have re-skinned it 3 times... just have not got it just right.. yet... I am liking a beatiful Yavin Sky , and alot of Yavin textures... it looks really sweet... the Pk3 will merely replace the textures like Jaina said.... and will be ultra small .... It will be active on NON-Pure servers and Servers containing the new pk3... I will let ya know when a finished product is available and pass the link to download it... as far as illegal... no one is going to publically release this for profit... it will only be used by the 1.02 community we play with... soo... i personally don't feel compelled to sweat itThe Logo On the pad idea is a scratch because the pad is a combination of repeaded sma;ll textrures... NOT 1 big texture... there are spots for ads though... like the Doors (that really do nothing) can have a image there instead.

I have also reskinned the Saber-Dome at minimus III replaced all teh portraits with Famous 1.02 players... mostly FoU due to the availability of ICONS... it is pretty sheikThe wasks and Jaina did manage to find a portrait slot though
