Guitar Hero 3

Well I personally got off to a late start with GH and didn't even try the game out untill Guitar Hero 2 hit the 360. Ever since I've been perfecting my 5 button spam fest and I can now beat every song (save for Jordon) on expert. Then comes Guitar Hero 3. I can't say if it was the best move for the company, but what was once a gradual learning experience has suddenly turned into a "bad game to start off with if your new." By this I mean GH3 is hard. As in, I can't even beat Hard mode right now (at the last song.) Mainly because of the faulty new "battle system" they introduced that makes NPCs a little annoying and luck suddenly become a huge part of winning. But really when it comes down to the game itself go on Hard mode, enter hyper mode (1-5, set it to 3) and your basically playing what was Guitar Hero 2's Expert mode. Go on expert mode on GH3 and for some song's your probably going to break some fingers or a hand.Aside from the difficulty raise in GH3 I was also a little disappointed in the song selection compared to 2. In 3 the core song's seemed lacking as many great songs and bonus tracks were kind of a "meh" from me, but were going into music taste here and it differs from person to person.Bottom line is pretty simple - if you like Guitar Hero 1/2 and you want a new GH but can't wait for Rock band(lol 5 days away now) go ahead and buy GH3. It's the same game you've come to know and love only with a difficulty slap upwards that makes baby Jesus cry. If your short on cash... just wait for rock band.

rock band's track list is WAY better, and DLC pricing/support is impressive too, might try to pick up just the game Cd and play through guitaras for GH3, it's decent fun, GH2 (which i too only started playing on 360)i dont mind the boss battles so much, found them fairly easy

Rock Band plays the actual song and and not the song by a cover band, THEY GOT RUSH ON THERE!!! <3 RUSH!

The hardest song on GH2 is Jordon, and only one part is retarded on that song. Go check out Through Fire and Flames by Dragonforce and try to convince me GH3 isn't hard! :oops:Edit: Found a video on a guy playing it here

But I mean really, it goes without saying that GH3 is a lot harder than GH2. However not everyone is simply amazing at guitar hero and I didn't mean to make it sound like the game is "impossible" or anything... it's just simply tougher than its predecessor. No need to continue that debate though, if you think its easy then good for you!
